I don't think so, but the command is only one click away in the Control panel at the top.

I don't understand why you need to use it for every file.

If you place an image, you can uncheck "Link" in the options.

If you have done that once, it will stay that way and embed images when you place them.

the fastest solution - in links window - select all, and in upper right menu - embed image(s) and voila

Hi Sajid,

In addition to Ton's reply, I am sharing a help document for more details about embedding a link image:

How to import artwork files in Illustrator

Please feel free to update this thread in case of any additional query.

Thanks,

Twarita

You could assign a keyboard shortcut to an action that would embed linked files.

Seroiusly, there is NO option in any of the menus and NO hotkey for something so basic. To those saying just click the embed button on the top of the screen have never been working on a project in full screen mode and then have to stop everything to find the setting that shows the top menu with the embed button and then go back to full screen to work and then go back again to embed. 1) Adobe needs to make this option avaiable in the dropdown menu and add a hotkey. 2) It would be even better if the file embeded automatically so that I don't lose artwork for missing something, this whole thing was developed over two decades ago when file size was important so images could be sent seprately, this is NOT Quark or In Design. I logged in to post this becouse I have already suggested this update but it was never implimented. I know MANY people that are frustrated with this.
