Live paint selection not working for blend mode lines

I used a blend mode to create the blue lines then expanded them so I could edit them but they're not editable like the red lines. My end goal is to create a live paint selection area so that I can add colors between the lines (like stripes) but every time I try a live paint selection it selects the whole right side of the object. Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

A blend mode or a blend?

If you are referring to blends, then you need to expand that before being able to use Live paint
