Using File>Place is a far more reliable method of importing Photoshop into Illustrator. This method also gives you the options to link or embed as well as the options to import the Photoshop layers as objects on separate layers in illustrator. As for the screenshot that you show it looks like Illustrator is in Outline mode. Try using View Menu>Preview to shift the program back to Preview mode and see what you get.

Hi @Michelle256620350gfr,

We are sorry to hear about that. Would you mind checking if pressing cmd/ctrl + y makes any difference? Also, if you still have a copy of the Ai & PSD file, would you mind sharing it with us? We'll check at our end.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

One thing I do is in the Layers Window... I create a new folder all the way at the top. I move every layer into that folder in the proper order.  I make sure everything is unlocked. I then copy the folder Crtl+C, then in Photoshop I press Crtl+V.... then place it as a Smart Object.

Other people may laugh. But this keeps gradients and blurs that I created in Illustrator the way I made them.
