Question

Lower case "i" changing to Upper case "I" when exporting to PNG (text optimised)

Hello All.

I have a problem when exporting an 78x118px PNG icon, containing Open Sans Bold text (11pt, tracking:0; kerning:Auto).

Take word "Intelligence".

Black text over white background.

Lower case "i" changes to Upper case "I" when exporting to PNG (text optimised).

Is there a way to avoid it? Couldn't manage to do it.

78x118 doesn't seem to be enough pixels to resolve the gap between the dot and the rest of the character with that font.

You can make the graphic as big as You want (for example 800x600) - that doesn't solve the problem.

    Illustrator view (screenshot):

PNG exported (native size PNG screenshot):

12pt text makes the dot visible. Seems like 11pt is not enough. But 11pt is not that small text actually, so that's weird.

Sorry, yes of course, I'm obviously not awake yet.

Make it 10pt or even 9 and it resolves the dot too. So it seems like an aliasing problem with just that font at just that size.
