macOS not sensing keyboard while dragging tools: Privacy & Security setting?

I have some third-party plugins with tools that respond to pressing keys like W, R, or ] while dragging, as well as the usual Shift/Alt/Option modifiers, but the alphanumeric keys are ignored in recent updates to macOS. In macOS Ventura System Settings > Privacy & Security I have added Adobe Illustrator 2023 to the list of applications allowed to monitor input from the keyboard. I cannot add plugins to that list, although once they're loaded they no doubt run as part of Adobe Illustrator.

Does anybody know of another setting where the keyboard state in Adobe Illustrator may be blocked?

I can't think of any native Adobe tools that respond to alphanumeric keys while dragging, but if there are some, are they now blocked as well?

The spiral tool responds to R and the curve segment tool responds to C and F (both while dragging). Do they work?

Yes, they do work. Thanks! The problem is still there, but I have a better idea now where to dig for a solution...

When in doubt, it's always MacOS acting up and throwing a tantrum.
