Make the "Rename" option available in the Layer options menu

Currently, for some reason, the Rename option is not available in the options menu for layers:

Illustrator no rename option in the layer's menu.png

It's available in After Effects and Photoshop though:

After Effects:

Photoshop:

Because of the lack of this menu item, the UI/UX of these Adobe apps becomes inconsistent, making it more challenging to establish a consistent workflow when using multiple Adobe apps.

Please, make the "Rename" option available in the options menu for layers (shapes/objects) same way as it's done in Photoshop and/or After Effects.

Just double click on the layer name. Just like how you can do it in Photoshop.

But you cannot do it in After Effects. Regardless, your suggestion does not provide any helpful information for resolving the inconsistency issue of Adobe's apps.

THis is the community forum 95% of people here are answering in their spare time. Trying to get people resolve their issues, not discuss the applications is the main focus here. If you want to change something I would recommend joining the Prerelease and get in contact with the engineers. Posting it on this forum will not get you anywhere.
