Question

Maximize document window doesn't place the window right in the corner

This is a silly problem but it bothers me.

I'm using Illustrator CC 23.0.1 for Mac OS (10.14.1) and when I click the green button to maximize the document window, the upper and left edges are placed a bit under the toolbars.

So I have to manually place it right like this each time. This can't be by design. Is it known? Any way to fix it for good?

Hi Carola,

Can you please verify the same behaviour when AI is launched with "UI Scaling" set to "Small"?

1. Launch AI and press "Command + k"

2. Switch to "User Interface" tab

3. Change the "UI Scaling" to "Small"

4. Click on OK button

5. Click on OK button again in the dialog displayed

Thanks & Regards,

Also, when I open a document it ignores the toolbar and its hidden behind it, so I always have to click the green button to resize the window. Then it is perfectly placed - But, only if I use the small UI setting.

Thanks for the idea, but I want to use it without the frame as I always had used it. The thing is Illustrator is placing the documents ignoring the toolbars. Either when I open a document or when I maximize it, it doesn't truly match the estate in the screen.

The toolbar is docked to the side. I suspect something broken in my Illustrator, because in Photoshop it works as expected.

You culd turn on the Application frame.
