Merge multiple artboards into one?

Hi everyone, hopefully a simple question today,

I have a document with multiple artboards, I'd like to stick them together into one long artboard.

To put it another way, is there a simple way to stick two A4 artboards together into one A3 artboard?

Each artboard has a massive number of elements on it.

not as directly as that. but you could draw another (a3) artboard that overlaps both a4 artboards. then use that for exporting or whatever you need it for.
