messy code when I copy words from ppt to illustrator

When I copied my ppt slide to illustrator, the words are always messed up. I used Arial in my slide, which also be installed in illustrator.

If it is just words you are copying then I would suggest copying them to notepad first then into illustrator. When copying from PowerPoint/Word they sometimes carry unseen/hidden foreign charactors. Using notepad will strip all of that out and should appear as you want.

I had the same problem.  For me Helvetica worked but Arial didn't.  YMMV.

From research, I gather it's a font compatability issue.   I guess Adobe's Arial is not the same as Microsoft's Arial.  You need a Truetype font, many  of which will have "Pro" in the font name.
