Microsoft Surface Pen in Adobe Illustrator, Rarely Inks/Registers Strokes

Hi all,

For the first time, I'm trying to use my Surface pen in Adobe Illustrator.  My problem is, it will rarely ink when attempting to make a stroke.  Here are the details:

• In Adobe Illustrator, paintbrush tool is selected
• No ink appears on screen when stroke is performed about 90% of the time; every once in a while, a random stroke will ink
• If I just tap on the screen, the pen will ink dots in accordance to taps on screen
• I have updated all the drivers recommended by multiple troubleshooting tips
• I have turned off the press & hold right-click feature
• Pen inks perfectly fine in Microsoft Paint, absolutely perfectly
• Pen does not appear to be working in quick Photoshop trial either

Are you using the Surface Pen on a Surface device ? What version of Illustrator ?

It should work just like any other presseure sensitive pen in Illustrator, like a Wacom:

But do check if the Stroke color is set to something (not None) ! Does this help ?
