Missing Arial Bold and Arial Italic fonts.

When I open up a pdf drawing file in the latest version of Adobe Illustrator, I get an error message saying that two fonts are not available on this computer, Arial Bold and Arial Italic even though they are loaded on the computer.  Many lines of text of the drawing are complete gibberish. The OS is Windows 10.  How do I fix this problem.

No font management is installed, I'm using USA english as did the group that originally produced the pdf file.  I don't know which program they used to draw it originally.  What do you mean by "which system"

Sorry, you have mentioned Windows 10 already.

Problem with PDF files is that when embedding a font, they might be renamed.

Also when this file has been created on a Mac or in some other application, formatting might get applied that Illustrator does not support. So your only option might actually be to use Type > Find font to apply the fonts again.
