My pritners tell me that my files are missing bleed lines. I checked, and they are selected on the files, but they're not showing up on screen, on Illustrator or as PDFs.

I suspect they are asking for Trim marks, which needs to be selected when save out a PDF. If it's Bleed they are asking for, and you have properly included bleed in your file (and set a bleed distance in your files' Document Setup), you also need to check that box. (in my example my bleed distance is 9 pt which is what I defined so it's greyed out. You can select a different distance by unchecking Use Document Setting and add a new distance in).

Thank you for your response.
I have those boxes checked. The resulting PDF includes the surrounding border with the color strips, dates, titles, and such (I apologize for my novice vocabulary).
However, the red line that represents the bleed remains missing.
Neither the red border nor the aforementioned white version are visible on screen when I open the porjects in Illustrator.

If you are talking about this red line, it is only a guide showing you the bleed you have set in Document Setup for your file. It is not an object that prints or exports to a PDF. If you indeed set a bleed, and it's not showing, then you've turned off/hidden guides (View > Guides > toggle Hide Guides)

Sorry to be such a nob.
This seemd to work as far as making the bleed line visiable.
However, it also made a bunch of crisscrossing, blue lines appear (only visiable onscreen, not printed or as a PDF).
Any clue what those are and how to get rid of them?
