Missing Fonts show up in pink in Illustrator

Since I started using Illustrator on my new Mac, when I open an old file it highlights all the text in pink. I cannot figure out how to make it stop.

    Hi Amy,

    You have three choices. One will work for you, and two have been mentioned.

    1. Install a legal version of the typeface (best).

    2. Turn it off in Preferences or ignore it (do this if it is going back to the designer who has the typeface.

    3. Go to Type > Find Font. Change the "From" to look on your System, not within the Document. Change the typeface to something you have.

    Hi Amy,

    This is a new feature for the Creative Cloud. It’s to show you exactly which fonts are missing from your document. Since this feature was released, I tend to use more TypeKit fonts because it’s easier to resolve any missing font issues. The pink highlights will go away if you install the missing font.

    You can also turn this feature off by going into the Preferences, Type and unchecking the box that reads “Highlight Substituted Fonts”. That way you will no longer see the pink highlights.

    You can turn it off in Preferences by taking the check mark off of 'Highight missing fonts'. However, you may want to leave it on so that you can easily spot any missing fonts.

    Install the missing fonts using Font Book or whatever font utility you may be using. If the font is installed you may have a font database conflict, flush your font cache.

    Hi Amy,

    That shows a missing font (font in pink). Please check if you have that font installed in your system? If not, get it installed, relaunch Illustrator and check.
