Missing Pen Tool Keyboard Rollover Options

With the pen tool selected, I used to be able to add/remove anchor points and handle their Bezier curves just by pressing a key (shift, option, control, etc.) while hovering over a path, without having to switch back and forth between pen tools. Is this functionality gone?

that box above should be unchecked

if it is and the modifier keys still do not work , you may need to reset your preferences

I'm using version 22.1.

I've unchecked the Disable Auto Add/Delete option and the modifier keys are working again.
