Most Used App with the Most Bugs and Issues

Illustrator used to be my top platform to create graphics, but the more new updates that come out, the worse the product is. On a daily basis, I have issues with vectors glitching out and not showing, random crashes or lags, or the app will overwrite a file. I'm frustrated that all the updates revolve around generative Ai; why would I come to Illustrator if I wanted to create something with Ai. The more problems I have, the more I am inclined to use outside platforms like Canva. Adobe has a lot of issues with their programs, but this by far is the worst. Please Adobe, I'm begging you to improve the bug issues with all apps, especially Illustrator, or you will lose customers.

I had the latest version.  29.6.2 now I reinstalled the 29.5 version and perfectly opening and saving the file perfectly. So it's clearly a bug from your side, Adobe..

Hello @Hannah30477312roi6,

I am sorry to hear about your experience with Illustrator. Could you share more details, like the version of the OS/Illustrator installed, and if Illustrator crashes when using a specific tool/feature or when working on a specific file, so I can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Anubhav

The most common glitch I've been experiencing is when moving an object, zooming, panning, or grouping objects - the graphic or parts of it will essentially disappear. Like it's still there, but Illustrator doesn't have the capacity to show it unless I move the object around and it unglitches. This happens regardless of the file or tool and happens on a daily basis.

The issue I had that caused me to post a comment is overwriting files. I created an Illustrator document yesterday, worked on it all day long with no issues, was saving the file frequently. I even closed Illustrator on my lunch break and returned to the file to keep working. Once I was ready to save a draft, I did Save As and selected PDF without Illustrator editing capabilities. I know doing this converts the open file in Illustrator into a PDF; so I saved the PDF in a completely different folder, separate from my Illustrator file. When I went to reopen the file this morning, it was no longer an Illustrator file and was a non-editable PDF. I checked version history, and the history never showed it being an Illustrator file at any point, which I know is not true. This process is I do frequently, and this is the first time I've had an Illustrator file completely overwritten as a PDF. It was not a normal occurance. I am currently having to reconstruct the file based off another PDF and luckily it has editing capabilities in Illustrator.

My main frustration is the fact that if you Save As PDF, the file is no longer an Illustrator file. It should not convert that way, or at least give you a notification that the file is now a PDF. I've heard from too many designers that this is also an issue for them too.

I'm working on Mac iOS Sequoia 15.5, Apple M3 MAX with the most up-to-date Illustrator software.

I have the same problems, since yesterday, I have been unable to work on a file which was perfectly fine before due to constant errors. I uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator, and it's just not possible to use it for anything. Whatever files I open from a long time ago or new, it takes more than 30 minutes to open them, if they even open at all. And then it says 'Error Preview' and outlines everything. Files that are not complicated and have been handled before. Don't want to save the files either. I hit the save button or try to resave it, and nothing happens.  If it even starts to save it, it takes hours, and eventually, I canceled it because I didn't have more patience. So literally I am unable to work since yesterday, and I have deadlines... Can you fix it??

I have a MacBook Pro M4 Pro, 48 gb Ram, there is no way that this laptop can't handle viewing a file, which was handled 2 days ago. And I didn't update anything or do anything before the errors started.
