Moving library to a new pc

I have searched but cant find a forum that answes this specific question.

If there is already a post, please post link.

I am getting a new pc and need to move my adobe across to the new pc.

I understand that if I load Illustrator to the new pc I will have access to my library

My main concern/ question is that on my current PC there is about 170gb of locally stored library files.

The current PC needs to be wiped clean to be used for a different purpose.

If the locally library files are deleted on the current pc, will this effect my cloud stored files?

Or when I load Adobe to my new PC, will all the library files just be downloaded automatically to the new pc locally and not effect the library at all?

I cannot afford to loose files in my library during the move over to the new pc

Any guidance would be greatly apprciated

Thank you

Is this about CC libraries? They get synchronized via the Creative Cloud app.

Libraries that you saved as AI files, need to be collected from the old PC and moved to the new one.

The applications themselves cannot be moved. You need to install them.

You can collect your custom settings via Edit > My settings > Export

Or grab them from their locations, listed here: https://www.vektorgarten.de/illustrator-settings.html

Hi

Thanks for your response.

I understand the app being installed on the new pc.

Thank you for the tip on saving the setting, that will help too

Are you referring to the files that get stored locally here that need to be moved to the new PC:

\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Creative Cloud Libraries

The libraries should be synchronized automatically. I would not mess with that without having a valid reason, which for me would ony be when thing are going South pretty badly.

Did you already try to install Crative Cloud on your new PC? You can have installed on both the old and the new PC .

Hi

Thank you for your response

Yes it is loaded on both PC's and I am loogged in on both, so the libraries seems to be accessable.

My concern is that if I move / delete the files in:

From the current PC that it will effect/corrupt the librabries...
