My Illustrator keeps on crashing. I use Cadtools.

My Illustrator keeps on crashing. I use Cadtools but they say that I have a corrupt illustrator install.

 

At first, I was getting the warning that my Creative Cloud was corrupted and that I needed to reinstall. I did this a couple of times. My Illustrator kept crashing and I was helped out with a reinstall from the Cadtools customer service. Everything was fine for about a week and then I got this error :

 

Missing required Plugins

ArtConverters.aip

Pathfinders.aip

I reinstalled and my computer seemed ok for a day but I started getting the reinstall error message again. I deleted older copies versions of Illustrator that I had on the computer, reinstalled illustrator, and installed Cadtools manually again. Still same issue.

 

I'm going to try and paste the crash report if possible.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Hi there,

 

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing us more information like:
1. Version of OS and Illustrator.

2. Have you tried working without Cadtools? (If not, please disable them once and see how Illustrator responds).
3. Have you tried restarting computer in safe mode and checked if it working there?

 

You may also try resetting preferences once. Follow instructions on help article https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html#setting_illustrator_preferences

 

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

Helo. I tried resetting preferences and using the app without Cadtools. This worked ok yesterday but this morning when starting up my computer, I got this error:

 

"Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve the problem. However, it is missing or damaged. Please download and install the new copy from http://www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp."

Hi there, thanks for posting the details about Illustrator. Crash logs were showing cadtools as the reason for crashes. A reinstall of the plugin might help.
