Mysterious Illustrator Tool

OK, so THREE different artists are using a specific tool within Illustrator to make AMAZING elliptical illustrations.  The MAIN artist whom started using this style is name Martin Sati.  The other two artist are Marina Okhromenko and Triyas Isa.  All three artists use Illustrator to create these illustrations, and it seems to be a specific tool or use of a tool to create this elliptical pattern.  If anyone has ANY ideas how these three artists are finessing Illustrator to create these illustrations I would be more then happy to hear.  I have attached a picture of each of their artworks below.

As far as I can see, there is a combining of the Geometry drawing tools, Pen tool, Curvature tool, and some shape editing like Corner widget, Pathfinder, and Shape Builder. Nothing magical :-), but creativity, mastery, and attention to the details.

What exactly is the corner widget tool and how can you use it?  I have taken Martin Sati's class and seen him use the corner widget tool but cannot figure out how to use it...

The corner widget is a set of small circles which you see when selecting the object by the Direct Selection Tool. If you don't, turn it On: View > Show Corner Widget.

You can select all the points together or just some of them and move "inside the corner" to get the needed curvature.

This works for any corners on your shape even if the shape is open.

There is no magic in what these artists did, it is just a current popular style. They could have used the pen tool or pencil or curvature tool for that matter. They used the tones of the images they were working from to block out the underlying shapes and went from there. Many experienced illustrators use plug-ins from AstuteGraphics to make their workflow easier, they are great, but again - no magic! Hard work and years of use are usually what goes into great illustrations.

Basically, you can use all drawing tools that are available in Illustrator.

And, of course, all tools that are there to edit the paths you've drawn.

Thank you for the advice!  Out of curiosity, do you know what other tools and techniques could be used to create this besides the pen tool?

Looks like there certainly must be a similar workflow between these three.

I don't know the exact tool, but I think that Astute Dynamic Sketch and Vector Scribe (maybe Reform) would help you get there.

There is no specific or magic tool to make such drawings. Can be done with the Pen tool and can also be done using other tools and techniques.
