Need help changing the lettering

New Here ,
Feb 28, 2020 Feb 28, 2020

So I licensed this business card template and I really like it. However, I obviously need to change the lettering around to fit my business. Other templates usually use a text editor to insert text but the designer of this card seems to have drawn it out? Namely, I can't just click the big T and start typing away. It seems as though he drew all the words using the various drawing tools. I suppose I can take the time to hand draw my own lettering but is there an easier way around this? I think if I do that I'd have trouble achieving the beautiful fonts and coloring this artist used. I really like this template but I'm not skilled enough to draw out the text I'd like to use in a clean and professional way. Please help!

Thank you!

Usually text is outlined in clipart. That's a requirement by the companies who sell the art. You have to delete the artwork and then create new text.

Do you want to print this? Because then you'll have another problem. This is not set up for printing. This shadow and nice looking presentation stuff will be really getting in your way. There are no artboards for the front and back set up and there's no bleed.

You can use graphic styles to create your own text using the same treatment as the text that has been converted to outlines. Go to Window > Graphic Styles to open that panel. Select the outlined text, click on the Graphic Styles panel flyout menu (the hamburger menu on the upper right), select New Graphic Style..., and click OK. Illustrator will add a new graphic style in the panel that uses the styles applied to the outlined text. Type the text you want in whatever font you plan to use. Select it with the Selection Tool and click on the graphic style that you made. Illustrator will apply that style to your text.

Does your license include the vector file?  If it does, check to see if there is a clipping mask in the vector file(s).  Looks like there is a background bitmap file for each side.  Per Monika's complaint that there is no bleed, you may be able to obtain bleed when the mask is released.  As already discussed, the text was converted to outlines.  But, the text elements can be regenerated using system fonts ( such as Times and Myriad ).  Double check your "license" agreement to see what is allowed and what is not allowed ( as far as edits ).  Are you planning to use the image ( gradient textures ) in the text as it appears in your sample?  Again, double check your source files to see if that image is part of the entire folder.  The reason I ask is because the texture creates complications when printing, especially on small font sizes outline or no outline.
