Need to create "wave" or "depth" typography effect

You could build a grid using a Symbol (Transform Effect expanded).

Use the Symbol Spinner to rotate them.

You could use blends. And then expand and blend again in the other direction.

Thank you very much! Main concern is how to create the "flow" effect.

I have tried the Symbol approach mentioned above, and it kinda works (I dont have much control on the flow direction).

It's tedious, but using the blend approach you can get that.

Yes, flow direction is manual, but you can come a long way with a large brush.
