It's numbing - the performance of v29 is WAY SLOWER than when I had v28.

I'm trying to find where I can download legacy versions of Adobe Illustrator.

Can someone help?

Please refer to this page for installing previous versions of Illustrator.

I don't notice any difference in performance between Illustrator 28.7.2 and 29.0.1 on my Mac Studio M1 Max.

If you are using utilities such as Magnet, Rectangle, etc., please stop using them.

Hello @SundayGladiator,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with Illustrator's performance on your computer. Would you mind sharing more details, like the OS version installed on your computer, system specs like CPU/GPU/Memory, and if Illustrator behaves this way when working with a particular tool/feature/file, so I can better assist you?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yes thank you.

Mac OS Sequoia 15.1, Chip M1 Pro, 32 GB Memory, Ilustrator 29.0.1. When working with files containing the more intricate vector illustrations (lots of points and paths - see below) it slows to a crawl. When I had v28 working with the same file, this did not happen.

Often I'm forced to convert the vector illustration to a bitmap, and bring it back into file in order to improve illustrator performance. But that of course defeats the printing benefits of having a vector illustration right?

Any hoots it's a bit of a surprise since Illustrator has been a rock star for me with these type of files up until the v29 upgrade. Now there's regret.

Hello @SundayGladiator,

Thanks for sharing the details. I will need some more information to check this with the team. Kindly share the file after uploading it to a file-sharing service like Google Drive/Dropbox, etc., and a screen recording of your exact workflow in Illustrator 2025 and Illustrator 2024 showcasing the problem.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
