New Document not working

Hi, 

 

I've been experiencing this problem with Illustrator where the new document window doesn't respond. I'll try to create a new document and it will either just be stuck on the new document window or a document will open but the window will not go away,  and the close button is not responding. The only thing that helps is going into my task manager and forcefully ending the task.  This has only been happening with the new version of Illustrator (v 28.0). Is this just a bug and is there any other workaround for this issue?

 

App Version: Illustrator v 28.0

OS: Windows 11 pro

Do you also reboot the computer? Or just end the task?

Did you reset the preferences?

 

Does it work better when you turn on the old "New file" interface via Preferences > General?

I've rebooted and it doesn't do much, the only thing that works is ending the task via task manager

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:

- Close all Adobe applications
- Navigate to the following location:
(Windows) C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP
(macOS) Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

- Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old
- Relaunch Illustrator

I've seen this issue as well, but only if the New Document dialog is opened kind of hastily, immediately after launching Illustrator.

 

Usually it helps to just wait a couple of seconds.
