New Illustrator wont let me link to images even in same folder.

With the upgrade now the links will not conncet properly even if they are in same folder. I have click on each one separatly each time. I do not want to embed any links into the main file. I want to keep links connected not to embed. It says missing a plug in see screen shot

    Is the folder on your hard drive or on a networked drive, external drive, or removable media? If it's not on your hard drive, try moving the folder there and then relinking. Here's more information:
