Hi all -- longtime listner, first-time caller.

I just purchased a new Macbook Pro with the Apple M3 chip.

Suddenly, upon opening existing Illustrator files, I'm getting color profile errors like this one:

Opening the files is producing wildly incorrect (over exposed) colors.

Example: here's what a file shuld look like:

...and here's what I'm getting:

I've been seaching various forums and can't find an answer. I suspect this has something to do with support of Illustrator on the Apple chip, but I'm not sure.

Can anyone give me some pointers? Thank you!

Hello, on my external screen the colors appear to change somewhat, the red color appears as orange when I connect to the MacBook. Did you find a solution?

Hello @abdoa8713821,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind trying to recalibrate your monitor(s) (https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp1109/mac) as suggested by Monika and Ton, restarting your computer, and then relaunching Illustrator to check if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

If you have just download adobe software i think the colour profile defaults to US colours. If you change you profile to European pre press the RGB settings should be Adobe RGB (1998). You can do this in bridge - Edit - Colour settings - European press 3. Next time  you open the file convert and save to the new working profile then your colour will be the same as the first image.

Ton, thanks to your question, I was able to go to my second computer, "save" the color settings it had, then "load" them on the new computer. (The setting -- North American General Purpose 2 -- was not shown as an option on my new Mac, but loading it seemed to work.) Glad I had a second computer with working settings. Thanks for the savvy question!
