No custom workspaces available in Ai 2019 and toolbar disappears each time Ai closes.

Hi,

Yesterday I upgraded Ai to 2019 version. When opened for the first time all custom panels and workspaces were in place, but when I rebooted computer all gone. My custom workspaces are visible in drop-down box, but when I click on it nothing appears. New workspace button is not active even if new workspace created, cannot save it.

Also no any toolbar is visible on the left side. When I select Advanced it also disappears when Ai closed/started again.

Really frustrating... never had such problem before.

All 3 custom workspaces available in AppData folder...

Any help will be much appreciated.

PS. Just returned to 2018 version, all workspaces and toolbars/panels appeared again and all is functional. When upgraded all preferences were moved to new version.

you hit the TAB key by chance?.. possibly you are just toggling those pallets off (pressing TAB key does that)

I just upgraded this morning and my workspaces are behaving as expected/toolbars as well

I hit TAB the first time I've seen this problem but nothing happened.

I even restored advanced toolbar and some of the panels from my workspaces but all disappears when Ai restarted.

I will try again now to install 2019 and hit TAB, may be I didn't hit it hard enough yesterday ...

must not of been it -- sorry .. figured it'd be worth a shot.

I use windows 7... the other week on illustrator 2018 I had an odd menu drop and they 'came' back when I hit (windows key) + a directon arrow key (left/right/up/down)

I can not get it to repeat since but it saved me in a pinch... might not work for you but I usually try everything I can when I get in tough spot like that.  Good luck... I can't think of anything else (cc should download your new illustrator to the same folder your other adobe apps live.. so can't be anything like that either :/)
and my appdata is stored in x64... I am hoping cc will conform updates to all be in the same folder

C:\Users\ryane\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 23 Settings\en_US\x64\Workspaces

do the workspaces do the same from both menus?

Hi Ryan,

Magic (same as s...t) happens , uninstalled it and istalled again and it works now... That was no TAB key problem because now when I hit TAB I still can see all workspace menu active (reset, new, manage) all of them before were inactive...

So, many thanks for support, it is just because of you I decided to reinstall it again - in case I was so stupid and really hit TAB... Anyway result is positive, only Astute Graphic plugins are not available... but they should be in this status for some time.

Glad it worked for you in the end... uninstalls are a good starting point (but can be annoying removing/re adding stuff)

Nothing worse than not being able to use adobe's tools you bought -- so glad you weren't down too long
