OBJ file from Illustrator for Studio Toolkit ESKO - is this possible?

Hello(:

 

I have a question for you, maybe someone has already had experience with it and can help me further😊  I'm currently working on 3D and parallel perspective packshots (I use PSD for this, here I can't - because of my limited knowledge of PSD - show off curves or the material of the boxes.. I'm creating frames and filling them with images). The program I use for the 3D packshots is the Plugin for Illustrator Studio Toolkit from Esko.

 

I was wondering if it is possible to built a box in the parallel perspective with separate parts in illustrator and send the obj files to Studio Toolkit.

 

Obj files can be opened in the Studio Toolkit, but not the ones that are saved by Illustrator.

Does anyone know where the problem could be?

    Are you using the 3D & Materials effect in Illustrator to create your boxes? And then export them as OBJ?

    There are no options for that or anything. So it either works or it doesn't. But if it doesn't work, then you need to investigate the other app.

    thank you for your quick answer and your time!

     

    we use the 3d models and the material settings from studio toolkit where the box is built using the cut & crease lines from the illustrator file and the ard file (3d model) is linked to the illustrator file.

     

    we also had 3D models made, these are obj files that can be loaded into the studio toolkit and saved as an ard file.

     

    hm.. that's why I thought I could build a box with seperate parts in Illustrator as an obj file (or something else, like a boxhandle) and then load it into the studio toolkit to save it as a ard file and create a parallel perspective with the seperate parts - and.. hm well.. jup.. that's illogical and impossible in this program because of the false perspective haha

     

    i just started working with packshots and i'm not very familiar with all possibilities yet and the parallel perspective is tricky to create for me.. because i want it to look as realistic as possible(:

    In Illustrator you cannot combine multiple 3D parts.

    But you could do that in Adobe Dimension. And then export a model from it: https://helpx.adobe.com/dimension/using/supported-file-types.html
