Object select tool not working

I updated to the new Illustrator (24.0.2).

The object selection tool (Black arrow) doesnt move objects anymore. Sometimes when I click on and drag the center dot it will work. But I cant get it to work when clicking on other elements.

I uninstalled and reinstalled illustrator as wel as closed the program and reopened it.

Just to check:

• Do the objects have a Fill?
• Does the Selection tool work when you drag the edge of the object instead of the center?

They have both fills and no fills. I can resize but not drag from the edge. I cant even control click direct select tool to drag either.

Is there a bounding box around your objects? What if you hide your bounding box (View...Hide Bounding Box), then try to move your objects by dragging the edge?

If none of these ideas work, you may need to quit and reset your preferences. Uninstall/Reinstall does not do a reset.

Have you perhaps turned on Object Selection by Path Only in the Illustrator preferences?
