Objects are Locked in Constraint. Please help.

I was experimenting with the Free Transform Tool (I don't usually use) and now every time I use a selection tool I have no option to constraint the proportions of an object -- even with shift held.  There is is locked icon that shows.  I have to go into the Free Transform menu and de-select the constraint option.  HELP ME PLEASE!!  Its nearly impossible to work like this.

    Please show some sort of screenshot.

    You might also just want to try a restart or rebuilding the preferences.

    Hi Monika.  Thanks for replying.  Sorry for my tardy response.  Here is what I am seeing.  I have restarted the application and it appears this constraint is locked.  With either selection tool, I am unable to resize.  Thanks for your time.
