Community Beginner ,

Hello,

A designer sent me an Illustrator file and when I open it, I don't have the same colours as she does. It is similar but not the same RGB, HSL.

I don't know how to change that.

Thank you

I would go for one of the general presets for Europe or US if you are unsure.

Turn on the Color Management Policies checkboxes to get warnings and suggestions for a solution when mismatches are happening.

You can also ask the designer what profile was used.

It's definately an AI file and not pdf?

I would first turn on the warning checkboxes about profiles in your Edit > Color Settings.

They will alert you about color profiles that are different from yours and suggest solutions.

I can see differences, are these CMYK documents?

And can you show your Edit menu  > Color Settings?

The one she sent me is RGB. I guess my parameters have to be set up. Here is a screenshot of my color settings. It is in spanish but I think you will understand.

Your Color Settings are set to Colomatch RGB as working space, can be good for images but probably not used by the designe who sent you the file.

Is there a reason your Color Management Policies are Off for RGB and CMYK?

No there is no special reason. I just tried different things to resolve my problem..

Which parameters would you recommend?

It worked by changing my profile (the same as the designer used).

Thank you very much !!
