I created a drawing in Illustrator.  When I try to export it, the whole project has rotated 90 degrees.  Why?

Use the ESCAPE key or reset the degrees to 0 or View > Reset Rotate View.

Looks like you have rotated your artboard. Look at the lower left corner of your document next to the zoom percentage.

But I never intentionally rotated it.  And I want it to be at the "rotated" orientation.  How do I put it back and have it remain that way for printing or for exporting?

Use the ESCAPE key or reset the degrees to 0 or View > Reset Rotate View.

I so appreciate your patience with me.  This is so frustrating.  I've never had this happen before.  My document is now at the orientation I want.  But I'm back to having it turned 90 degrees when I want to export it.

You probably created the content while it was rotated.

Copy the content, create a horizontal artboard, paste the content and rotate it to fit the horizontal artboard,

Can you share a capture? How you export it? Export Assets?
