Outlines appearing strange and jagged, not smooth

Hey guys, if i zoom in close on an object (all simple vector shapes in illustrator) the lines are appearing quite strange and jagged, and aren't lining up with the bounxing box / handles etc. (pics atatched)

 

Has anyone seen this beore ?

This is a display-only phenomenon that can occur when in View using GPU mode, and disappears with View > View using CPU or ⌘/Ctrl + E. As I understand it, with Illustrator, operating systems, and graphics cards providing unsynchronized updates, sometimes the GPU display is not optimal.
