I have separated colors in a logo using spot colors. When I go to print, the output mode is grayed out. I have switched from using my canon pixma printer to using adobe postscript and the same thing happens.
You want to print separations on a desktop printer?
Did you choose a PPD after selecting Adobe PostScript file as Printer?
When I did that the options were device independent or other. When I chose device independent, it was still grayed out. If I choose other, what do I select? Thank you
I still am having trouble.
Did you unzip the file and select the ADPDF9.PPD?
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I got it to work, finally.
Good to hear that worked.

Which Illustrator/System version do you use?
Where do you save your Illustrator file?
If you change the ppd back to your printer ppd, is that still happening?
I have tried this and I am getting the same error the PPD is invalid or corrupt. I unzipped the file saved it in a desktop folder called PPDs, closed out of Adobe and it still isn't working. I am using the newest version of Illustrator. Any other ideas? Thank you!
I am having the same problem in Illustrator as well as tried to follow these instructions for the PPD and is invalid or corrupt too. All my printer settings are grayed out and I am unable to do anything. Need help!
