so i have a shape i drew with the brush tool and its closed has no gaps, and i want to fill it with colour, so i go to the tool search and cant find regular fill or paint bucket, all i can find is live paint, i try it and quickly realise it works differently to fill or bucket in photoshop. i search up how to use the live paint tool and none of the tutorials worked for me so i go to this site and try to use fixes from other people that had similier issues, it still would not work. if anyone knows why this is happening or how to fix it please tell me. also i have an assignment where ill have to create a penguin in illustrator coming up soon and i dont wanna hand coulour it with the brush tool so all help is very much apreciated

There is no paint buckt in Illustrator.
This is how it works: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/painting-fills-strokes.html
The live paint won't work with live brushes, you will first have to either expand them or make a copy and convert that to simple paths.

Can you select your shape that you drew with your brush tool, then open up your swatches panel and click a fill color?
