So is there a way to get Illustrator or Photoshop to update color books as they change. Over a year ago Pantone added 112 New Colors. I actually need to use a couple of these colors on a recent project, but they were not in Illustrator in the Solid Coated Book. You would think since the applications are not Cloud based, they could update the books with just a simple application update. What is the benefit of not having a Program that is cloud based as opposed to CD upload if they can not make these updates to the applications?
If there is a trick I do not know about to add these missing colors please let me know!!
Get the Patnone Color Manager software (free if you have a printed swatches book) and then use it to install what you need.

if you have any of the printed ink guides or chip books, use the serial number from that book as the license for PCM. You will not be able to purchase a separate license.

some time between when you wrote this and today (Dec 14, 2022) it is no longer available.

I still have a copy, working on Mac OS 10.15 (Catalina)

I found it at mac informer:
https://macdownload.informer.com/pantone-color-manager/download/
Downloaded and tested. Working fine on Ventura. Again, you need a previously registered product/serial number.

downloaded and installed, but cannot activate
used serial #'s from 2 different books, plus tried pluggin in i1 Display 3 (recognized on my Catalina Intel) and still won't activate

You have to register the product at the Pantone website first. Then activate the app using the same serial number.

thanks so much
can confirm: registered the color guide and the Color Manager app activated without issue. Appears to be working fine on Apple M1 running Monterey (12.6).

PantoneLive desribes colors as spectral power destrubutions (SPD) inside ISO standard .cxf files not as LAB numbers. The moment you get those you can derive anything else. For example,

Pantone Live would be great to have, but...
This to avoid paying $7/month for Connect?
