Part of the logo disappeared when Illustrator file saved as PDF

Hello everyone,

I have a problem and I don't have any real clue...

I received from a client a logo. I put it in my document on Illustrator. 'Til then, no problem. BUT. when I export my doc in .pdf, a part of the logo disappeared... and here's my question. Is it a bug or something? It's not in the layers and the parameters of fusion. It may be a one-time bug...

but for the future, how can I do to be 100% sure there won't be any mistake ?

Thanks a lot 🙂

Not sure what "parameters of fusion" is (maybe a translation issue).

Have you check to verify all layers in the client file are set to Print?

Please show a screenshot. Layers panel needs to be visible.

we need to see before and after.

Try saving your PDF as Acrobat 8 version. This supports transparency, particularly if the logo is a placed image that is built with, or on top of, a Pantone spot color. Sometimes Pantone colors can appear white or not at all if saving a PDF as a lower compliancy.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Illustrator. I would request if you can share a few more details like:

  1. The exact version of Illustrator and the Operating System.
  2. Is this happening on a specific file? Will it be possible for you to try placing that logo on a different file for testing and then save it as PDF and check if that makes any difference. This is to isolate the cause of the issue.
  3. What PDF preset you selected while saving the file? I'd recommend selecting [PDF/X-4:2008] and then try again and see if that makes the difference.
