Pasting a text layer with effects loses editable text

I have a file that I'd like to copy to another file. There are two text layers that have effects applied to them. The text is fully editable in both layers, and shows a "before effects" version. When I paste the group into a new file, the editable text is lost, and only an outline of the final appearance remains. Anybody know how to get around this?

I am copying the group, opening a new document, and pasting the copied layers into it.

Current version of Illustrator: 25.2.3

Mac OS 10.15.7 (Catalina)

The warp effects copy fine.

Try to run Illustrator only, close all other apps.

Check for clipboard enhancing software/utilities.

Yep, that's it. Conflict with Parallels Toolbox app Clipboard History. Turn that off, copy/paste works correctly. Woke up this morning with that thought, tried it even before I saw your post. Thanks, Ton.

It wasn't a big issue, just an annoying one. One of those little bugs that bug you rather than causing some major disease. 🙂

Good to hear that helped.

Okay, so it's copy and pasting fine here.

I tried changing the Preferences > File Handling settings for Clipboard to see if any of those settings changed the results, and nope, still worked fine, so not sure what to tell ya!

I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing. A little help from Adobe would be nice.

Can you share a sample file or can you not share one?

An .ai document cannot be posted directly to the forum. Please see Ton Frederiks's post about sharing a link.

Is Paste Remembers Layers active in the Layers panel?

It wasn't, so I tried that with a new copy & paste. Nope. That didn't help, either. Any text element that has an effect is rendered as a unnamed group of individual compound paths, and the layer (text) name is lost.

How are you copying? Are you selecting the text and using the Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V or are have you tried the menu commands to copy and paste?

Both. Same results.
