Pathfinder doesn't work : it create a group ?

Hello Everyone !

I come for your knowledge because i will put my pc by the windows someday !

Someone can explain why Pathfinder doesn't merge layer but persist in creating a group ???!!!!

I have some points 5px (radius) and i would like to merge them in order to put a clipping mask for a gradient color (red to transparent)...

Thank a lot if someone understant my problem.

Hello !

I have dots (blue) and I would like to make a clipping mask to put a color gradient between red and transparent.

I would like the dots to "disappear" the more we see in the "white side". It doesn't work with select dots and pathfinder in order to put them in just one layer...

Make a compound path out of your objects. The pathfinder doesn't always make that.
