I am attempting to knock out text out of a shape to send for laser cutting. The text has been converted to a shape, but when I use the pathfinder tool, the fill of the main shape gets distorted. When the file is viewed in outline mode, everything looks correct. Am I doing something incorrectly with the pathfinder tool?

That did correct the problem. Do you happen to know why the GPU preview looks like that?

Thanks
