Pathfinder unite question

Hi there 

I always wonder how I unite two object without changing color 

I just want make that only 1 object so I need to remove that boundary

If I unite two object it combined other object's color

Hi Jason:

 

No worries, I already took care of it for you. 

 

I will point out that the Unite command creates a new single shape and that shape will begin as one color. Is the goal to remove the line between the red and white rectangles? You can do that by clicking on the line segment(s) with the Direct Selection tool and pressing Bksp or Delete. I separated my two shapes for clarity.

This looks an Illustrator question to me—Photoshop doesn't have a Pathfinder panel—so I'll move this over to the Illustrator forum for you.
