Paths from illustrator to Photoshop

I've been working on both programmes from the very beginning

and for every update ( since black and white ) I've been hoping to find that

Adobe realised the way some of us old-timers actually want to work.

I still miss the possibility to export or import an illustrator vector path ( or complex ones )

into Photoshop as path(s) - preferable with the possibility to work on with it in Photoshop.

(the other way, from PS to AI is possible but not that useful at all, at least not for me)

This would be great as illustrator is the fastest/easiest program to make easychangeable flexible paths out from sketches and ideas

Maybe its me being so old that I've overseen a way to do this...

so if theres anyone out there that has the answer or Adobe after + 25 years

finally gave me that tool in the next update - I'll be happy to use it

(adobe user since 1990-something )

I've been doing exactly this but have a question that moves slightly on from this:

Say for example I have an Image opened in Illustrator, and the same image opened in Photoshop when copying and pasting paths from Illustrator into Photoshop, is there a way I can ensure that the path stays exactly in the same position it was in Illustrator when it is copied into Photoshop?

ctrl + shift V each time make sure the path is on a new layer. When all in you can highlight and manipulate them

Thanks mattarmerhk!

I had found a work around - putting a rectangle path around the artboard and pasting that in alongside the paths you want - but the hotkeys will be better. I will give it a try.

Copy and paste works really well and is the only way. If the path is complex, sometimes I've had to wait a couple of seconds when pasting into Photoshop.
