Pattern keeps showing lines HELP

Community Beginner ,
Nov 22, 2025 Nov 22, 2025

Im trying to add a pattern to an object in a drawing that I am doing, but it keeps showing tile edge and vertical lines in the pattern that I cannot get rid of? Sometimes I get it, sometimes I don't, but I can never fix it. I have undone transform patterns, I have even scaled, but it scales together with the lines. I don't understand because on pattern editor and preview, the pattern is perfectly seamless but then when I apply it to an object, it just comes with these edges. I have even ticked size to tile art and same issue.

Is it possible to share original ai file for review via any cloud file? If not can you show your layers panel in screenshot also?

Looks like there is a rectangle in your pattern that has a stroke applied to it.

In order to create it, I made diagonal lines, offset them, then rectangular box, sent it to back, clipping mask, then I made the pattern. But there wasn't a rectangle in the pattern, it was just used to clip the lines into a pattern.

Something maybe related, as in your first screenshot, the lines are not aligned.

That is very difficult to achieve with angled lines.

The best approach is to create you line pattern horizontal or vertical, and when applied to objects, rotate only the pattern.

Also, set your units to Pixels or Points and check if your pattern tile size does not contain fractional pixels.

This is what I am going to try. I will create horizontal lines when rotate them to see if it works.

Former has different meanings, also one I did not meant to mean it.

I apologize for my woolliness, Ton, there was no language problem in your post at all: former has no serious prenonimal meaning, unlike late.

Your kind linking to the page that Teri is still upholding to help us is the first time I have actually seen her retirement implied, and her latest kind and unique Adobe participation in the forum seems merely weeks ago rather than years.

Hence my silly question.
