Create a swatch library

You create a swatch library by saving the current document as a swatch library.

  • Edit the swatches in the Swatches panel so that it contains only the swatches you want in the swatch library.

Select Save Swatch Library from the Swatches panel menu (Choose a nice name to keep yourself organized as you will see this)

Add the swatch, then save your file as a document profile (see location below)

Alternatively, edit all the existing document profiles at the following location to include that swatch:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 26 Settings\en_GB\x64\New Document Profiles

Another way is – at least if you trust the cloud-based Libraries palette – to store objects with pattern fills in a library group. You can then just drag them onto the scratch area while holding down the Alt key to transfer them into the main Swatches palette.

That would work with new documents as well as with already existing documents.

Yes it  wil be added to a new swatch panel name you choose as seen in my screenshot (eg: nature Animal Skins).

To add to your swatches you would have to use the method Doug suggest. With that though will only work n new files that are crated using the document profile() you edited, not existing documents.
