Pattern tiling

I can't make the pattern bounding box the size that I want it, it keeps changing it, why won't it stay the size I drew it at

Looks exactly what I would expect when you draw an invisible rectangle behind those shapes.

You may want to try the pattern maker with a single object or even the partial object on the right.

No need to draw invisble rectangles.

Object > Pattern > Make... and change the W and H independently.

Iwould recommend using whole points or pixels as units.
