My toolbar only offers the curvature tool. It has replaced the pen tool section completely. Anybody know how to fix this?
Ray, I had shut down Illustrator. When I rebooted to take a screen shot my toolbar was fixed. That was bizarre! Thanks for your willingness to help!

Same thing to me today. Crazy. I thought that I was having a senior moment when I could not find the damn Pen Tool!

If you go to Window - Toolbars, click advanced, and it will show the tool bar as a double column with the missing minus and plus pen tool buttons. This is extreamly frustrating when you're at work and need to get stuff done, and these stupid changes make us stuff around to put exsisting tools back in place so we can use them. Adobe, please don't change these imperative tool locations and default settings. Thats the kind of thing Microsoft is great at doing, and no designer likes Microsoft lol

Me too! Pen tool was there yesterday. Today it is like it doesn't exist!!! Searching help doesn't even direct you to it. I thought I was going crazy and trying to do illustrator work in photoshop or something but no, it is illustrator. How does the most basic of basic tools vanish?

Anybody solve this? My pen tool only does curved lines now? This is driving me crazy trying to just do a simple straight line!

Looks like you are using the curvature tool instead of the pen tool.
