I disable hyphenation for a text box, and when I copy it up to start a new one some how hyphenation is re-enabled... can someone please help me fix this baffling behavior?

Since the February 2024 release (version 28.3 and newer), hyphenation has no longer been enabled by default for new documents. However, if you had it enabled in an existing document, Illustrator will continue to respect that setting when you copy and paste text.
