Pngs placing with background

Question

Hello,

I am having issues with pasting or placing PNG files into illustrator. Everytime a white background is added.

I have used the same files on other collegues computers and they are fine, no backgrounds added.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling illustrator.
I have imported over a collegues settings over mind and that did not work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes file > place, Yes saved on my harddrive and also tried desktop.

attached is an example, saved as png in photoshop with transparent background, placed into illustrator and it gets a white back ground.

all of these files work fine on my other collegues computers.

Works fine here. Does switching between GPU and CPU Preview make a difference? Cmd or Ctrl E

Pasting had issues in the past and could still have some. How do you place them?WHich version is it? Please give us a number.
