Previews not working in Illustrator 2023

Is anyone else having this issue? The previews have stopped working in Illustrator since I updated to the new 2023 version. It's killing me, I regularly cycle through many files every day, and now I can't. I posted a bug request, but haven't received any response.

Hello @Cris at Precision,

Would you mind installing the older version of Illustrator (v26) by following the steps shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/downloaded-older-app.html) and checking if it helps?

Looking forward to your response.

The version v27.2 and all the v27 stopped working today. I was working on a project which I had to save in different file formats and when I tried to save in .eps, there "save" button wasn't working. I tried to cancel but the "cancel" button wasn't working either. I had to force quit because nothing was working. I finally had to go back to the version v26.5.2 to be able to save a file.

It happned to me when I deleted 2023 version. I am currently usoing 2024. So I reinstalled the 2023 verions and I can preview files (AI and EPS) again. oud think that there would be some type of quality control over at adobe for problems like this.

Has there not be a fix for this issue yet. I see that the first post of is was on Nov 09, 2022 and now it is Dec 16, 2022 and with as much as Adobe is charging per month for their software I would have thought an fix for this to have come out. I just installed Illustrator fresh and went to card presets and nothing will show. I didn't go to any other area to see if they are working, I would guess they aren't. So Adobe when will this bug get fixed or stop charging for access to the app untill it is fixed.

Hello @DigitalD2,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind using Adobe Bridge (https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/get-started.html) to manage and preview your PDF/PSD/Ai/EPS and RAW files and check if it helps?

Also, share some more information, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator and some screenshots of the problem, so that we can investigate this further.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

It's a temporary workaround, but extremely slow in comparison.

Previews in your system?

Please tell us the system and also which file types are affected

Windows 11 is the system. It seems to be Illustrator, Photoshop, and .eps files. I get a preview with Adobe Acrobat Pro files.

You have to install a system extension in order to get the preview.
