So I just bought a Canon ImagseClass laser printer and the colors are just way off.
I used another laser printer at an office I was renting, and the colors was pretty accurate, at least for getting an idea of what the final product would look like. My new Canon ImageClass is nowhere near that. The colors are very blend/ligth and it looks nothing like what the other laser printer did.
I'm not very familiar with printers and I was wondering if I'm setting it up correctly or doing something wrong? I'm printing from Illustrator and I do mostly packaging designs, so it's pretty important that I get an idea of what the final product is going to look like colorwise.
Thanks!

I did try that as well and It didn't make a difference. Same result as printing from Illustrator.

why do you think this is an adobe issue? you said it printed better in a different printer?

Oh I definitely don't think it's an Adobe issue. I'm sure it's just me buying a printer that's not correct for the job, but unfortunately I can't change that now, so I'm stuck with it. I was just wondering if maybe there is a way to make make my prints more accurate, maybe a setting I don't know about or something...?

Hi there,
Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. Could you please confirm if the document is in RGB or CMYK color profile? Also, please share the screenshot of your color setting and printing settings.
In addition to the suggestion by @JonathanArias, you may check out this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/using/printing-color-management.html) on print color management while printing.
I will be looking forward to your response.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Anshul,
Aagin, I know it's not an Adobe issue, I know it's my printer that's probably not the right printer for the job, but I was just hoping that some settings or someting could help me out...
Everything I do I CMYK
When you say printing settings, what exatly are you looking for?

Dig down deeper:
Under Setup...
You'll find settings for your printer for Color Matching and Quality. You may have to play with these to get what you want. There's lots to play with in there.

Thank you for sharing the details and screenshot. In addition to the suggestion share above by Brad @ Roaring Mouse, you may try toggling with color management in print settings. For example, under color management > Color Handling > Toggle between "Let Illustrator Determine Colors" or "Let printer Determine Colors." I hope it helps.
