Print file as tiles in Illustrator CC2017

Hi!

In older versions of Illustrator, I could just check a box and then print a PDF as a tiled PDF with custom page sizes but in the CC17 version, I can't seem to get this part of the dialog box ungrayed out. I have been reading that Print Tiling needs to be set up, and that there might some kind of tool for this somewhere, but I can't seem to find the tool or set up for this at all!

I have several map artboards that need to be separated into 1/2 pages for a layout purpose. Please help!

Try and set up multiple artboards instead. You can create artboards inside artboards and overlapping artboards

    Thank you, Monika,

So, does this mean the tiling function no longer exists? It was so easy before to just tile a PDF to the size I need. I have a large area map with 70 tiles for an atlas...I would prefer to NOT have to make 70 artboards, if possible. I still don't understand why there isn't functionality of the tiling function?

Illustrator can no longer export the print tiling as seperate pages into a PDF. That has been a workaround when Illustrator documents had only one artboard.

In order to print those directly into PDF you would need a suitable printer driver. Or maybe distill a .ps file.
