If a file was originally created in Illustrator and a PDF was created, if someone places this pdf in Indesign, will it compromise the colors?

That totally depends on color and color management settings in Illustrator, InDesign and in the PDF options.

Hi Anndrea,
Thanks for reaching out. If the colors looks fine in exported PDF, then it should look fine in InDesign as well. Two things to which you can check are:
- Color sync all Adobe applications: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/keeping-colors-consistent.html
- When PDF is imported in InDesign, it gets placed as an image. Make sure that High quality display is selected in Display Performance for better rendering of images.
Regards,
Srishti
